These Are the 5 Summer Denim Trends Dominating 2025
Heatwave-friendly denim, anyone?

As a shopping expert with an affinity for denim, I'm constantly searching for the best options to refresh my current line-up. From styles suitable for both the office and weekends to versatile capsule wardrobe pieces that will carry me through any season, I've conducted the research and am ready to share my findings.
This season's runway shows proved to be key purveyors of both classic and modern silhouettes. Chloé's Spring/Summer 2025 show showcased a return to bohemian silhouettes and soft tones, including bleached and light-wash denim. Meanwhile, Acne Studios tredded in the opposite direction with raw denim colours and exaggerated voluminous denim in the form of barrel-leg jeans.

Case in point, this season's denim trends are all about comfortable yet stylish silhouettes that pair easily with classic shirting and sleek trainers. With the return of flared jeans and last year's favourite denim shorts silhouette, known as jorts, we are also pleased to see that denim skirts and cuffed silhouettes continue to be popular.
So, if you're looking for a great piece of denim to invest in this season or want expert tips on how to style some of these pieces, keep reading.
Barrel-Leg Jeans
Marked as one of 2025's biggest denim trends, barrel-leg jeans are everywhere right now. This cult style cinches in at the waist and cleverly skim the hips as they widen at the leg - creating an ultra flattering silhouette.

Although they may seem daunting to style, barrel leg jeans are less voluminous than their horseshoe counterpart, which makes outfit building much more straightforward. Pair these with a cinched blouse and flip-flops for a relaxed, everyday look.
Flare Jeans
Not to be confused with bootcut jeans, their slightly more understated counterpart, flared jeans have a distinctive silhouette that widens slightly less. Perfect for those who are not yet ready to commit to the ultra-flared look. Popularised in the 1970s, this boho classic was recently revived earlier this year, cementing it as the latest denim silhouette to invest in.

Taking inspiration from classic '70s styling while giving it a modern edge, opt for a crisp white shirt paired with taupe-coloured heeled clogs and a slouchy suede handbag.
Jorts
Jorts are a personal favourite of mine and were a daily fixture in my wardrobe last summer. Not only are they comfortable for everyday use, but they are also easy to pair with a tailored blouse and sandals, making they smart enough for the office.

To polish jorts for the office, pair them with a tailored shirt and fisherman sandals for an elevated approach. Alternatively, for a casual look, pair them with a white T-shirt, flats, and bubble jewellery for a cool-girl look.
Denim Skirt
For those warm summer days, opt for a flowing denim maxi skirt that seamlessly combines comfort and style. Available in various cuts, textures, and silhouettes, it's a classic wardrobe staple that pairs well with almost anything.

Another versatile option for styling, my favourite way to wear a denim skirt is with a sleek polo top and trainers on warmer days. If a sudden breeze hits, simply layer a complementary denim jacket over the top.
White jeans
It wouldn't be summer without this classic denim staple. White jeans instantly impart a fresh feel to any wardrobe essential, especially during the warmer months. Available in various shades, from bone to cream and even off-white, simply choose your favourite jeans style, and you're good to go.

Serving as a white canvas (no pun intended) to any look, a great tip is to incorporate colour when styling white jeans. From neutrals to brights, there really is no colour that wouldn't look good against a pair of white jeans.
