These are the Best Silver Jewellery Pieces I'm Adding to my Collection in 2025
I'm a cool-toned convert

When it comes to jewellery, most of us fall firmly into one of two camps: team gold or team silver. It’s a choice you usually make early on in life and, if you’re anything like me, once you’ve made it, it’s a binding contract. Not just because splurging on a whole new jewellery collection can be costly business, but also because it feels personal; your jewellery tone practically built into your DNA. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating slightly, but ask any gold hoop lover or silver ring stacker and they’ll most likely be committed to their tone of choice.
Recently however, I found myself abandoning everything I thought I knew and boldly dipping my toe into silver jewellery instead—and, I have to say, I think I like it.
Chanel SS25, Tods SS25, Bottega Veneta SS25
I'm not the only one, either. While gold has tended to be the tone of choice for high-end designers in recent years, the Spring/Summer 2025 catwalks saw a revival of silver’s sartorial prowess across both clothing and accessories—confirming cool-toned metallics are fresh once again.
Meanwhile, at Bottega Veneta's SS25 show, models took to the catwalk with sculptural silver earrings and brooches while, at Tod's and Chanel, cuffs and bangles were firmly back on the menu in sculptural shapes and icy tones.
However you're wearing it, one thing's for sure: when it comes to 2025's jewellery trends, silver is the chicest way to go.
So, what do we need to know when it comes to shopping for silver jewellery? Well, to find out I spoke to an expert, Carrie Brice, Founder of Carrie Elizabeth Jewellery. Here's what she had to say...
How to choose silver jewellery
"First, consider your lifestyle. If you’re choosing a piece you want to wear all the time, for years to come, choose sterling silver," says Carrie. "It’s hypoallergenic and can be worn every day. The UK standard is 925 Sterling Silver —depending on its weight, your piece will be stamped or hallmarked."

She continues: "Next, think about how you’re going to style your silver. If you love layering necklaces, look for chains in different lengths and styles that can be stacked up together; a chunky chain with a more delicate pendant, for instance. If you’ve already got some go-to silver pieces, look at adding in some gemstones for a pop of colour. My big styling secret? When it comes to design, details make all the difference."
Who does silver jewellery best suit?
"Honestly, one of the lovely things about silver is that it really does suit everyone," says Carrie. "Because it’s a true neutral, it works with all skin tones. You also can’t go wrong with silver because it plays well with all other jewellery, such as yellow or rose gold, so it’s great for mixing metals. And that’s hot right now, too!"
How to care for silver jewellery
"With just a little loving care, silver can be beautiful forever," says Carrie. "Sterling silver can darken due to a process called oxidisation, but it’s only surface tarnish and nothing to worry about. The best way to prevent tarnish is to avoid contact with household chemicals such as cleaning products or perfume, and remove your jewellery before swimming in chlorinated water."
"If you’re not going to be wearing a piece for a while, give it a quick clean before you store it," she continues. "A bath in a lukewarm solution of washing up liquid or baby shampoo is all you need to clean your silver, and you can buff it back to a shine with a soft cloth." Why not check out our favourite jewellery cleaning machines to make the process even easier.
So, now that you know how to choose and care for your silver jewellery, you're probably wondering where to shop for it.
To help, I've compiled an edit of the best silver jewellery to shop now.
