'I fucked up' says Prue (DON'T WORRY WE HAVEN'T INCLUDED THE NAME OF THE WINNER HERE)
Having a bad day? Spare a thought for Prue Leith. The Great British Bake Off judge just accidentally tweeted who the winner of the series is... ahead of tonight's finale.
'@PrueLeith No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional' she wrote 'I wanted them all to win. Bravo --[NAME REMOVED]'
As you might have picked up from the frequent references to hotter-than-hell conditions in the tent, The Great British Bake Off is filmed ahead of time over the summer. Participants, presenters and judges are sworn to secrecy until the winner is revealed. But Prue's slip-up was down to time differences - as she's currently travelling she got her zones mixed up and sent the spoiler tweet out early.
'I’m in Bhutan' she told the Press Association. 'The time difference is massive. I thought that they got it six hours ago. I’m in too much of a state to talk about it. I fucked up.'
The tweet was hastily deleted, but not before a few beady-eyed (read: annoying) people had gleefully screen-grabbed and shared the offending tweet, just in case the final million of us hadn't seen it.
If you're still blissfully unaware of who the winner is, tonight will see Sophie, Steven and Kate vying for the Bake Off trophy. Who will walk away triumphant? Who (other than about six million people) knows?
