Meghan Markle's onscreen dad just had words with Meghan's real dad
‘If you love your daughter, just love your daughter’

Meghan Markle has a difficult relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, something that has plagued her first few months as a royal.
There was the ongoing drama of whether he would be walking her down the aisle, not to mention his staged photographs for the press, and appearance on Good Morning Britain, even talking about Princess Diana in some controversial comments this month, amid reports that he would also be launching his own fashion line.
Even high profile figures have been weighing in on the Thomas Markle drama, with model Chrissy Teigen telling the 74-year-old to just let his daughter be happy.
It was a high profile figure closer to home however who spoke out this week, with the latest person to get involved in the Thomas Markle drama being Meghan’s TV dad, Wendell Pierce.
Wendell, who played Meghan’s onscreen father, Robert Zane, on Suits for five years had a lot to say on the matter in fact.
‘If you care about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, then that should be the first and foremost in your mind before you say anything,’ the actor implored. ‘If you love your daughter, just love your daughter. It’s not for public consumption.’

While Pierce’s comments were unexpected, they aren’t out of character, with the actor showing his support for Meghan for years.
‘Congratulations to my TV daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the news of their wedding engagement,’ he announced when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their engagement. ‘Harry you have her TV Father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves.’
And his thoughts on the royal wedding? ‘I shed a tear. It was a beautiful wedding, with a wonderful amalgam of cultures on a beautiful day,’ he explained. ‘You couldn’t ask for better.’
