The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, currently residing in Norfolk with their two children and their cocker spaniel, Lupo, announced their return to London earlier this year.
The official statement read: ‘Their Royal Highnesses love their time in Norfolk and it will continue to be their home. From this autumn, however, the Duke and Duchess will increasingly base their family at Kensington Palace’. The statement went on to explain how one of the driving factors behind the move is the fact that Prince George will begin school in September.
With his pick of the prep schools, speculation has been building as to which London institution the future King would be attending, with the news of their decision only breaking this week.

Just days ago, Prince William and Kate Middleton confirmed that Prince George had been accepted to Thomas’s London Day School in Battersea, news that they are said to be ‘delighted’ with.
The private prep school (costing a whopping £5,653 a term) has a strong focus on arts, sport and the outdoors, championing kindness, and boasting famous alumni from Cara Delevingne to Florence Welch.
The school has come under the spotlight most, however, for its approach to friendship, discouraging students from picking a best friend. ‘You can get very possessive friendships. It is much easier if they have a wide range of good friends rather than obsessing about who their best friend is’, explained the school’s head teacher.

Some people expected the couple to choose Wetherby School, attended by both Prince William and Prince Harry, but the school was supposedly only struck off the list due to his parents’ wishes for their son to be educated in a mixed school.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess announced that they ‘are delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education’.
The couple seems so taken with the school, in fact, that it looks like Princess Charlotte won’t be too far behind, expected to attend the kindergarten on the same site, before being old enough to attend Thomas's herself.
