Ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena Tweeted her joy yesterday, after winning the first stage in a legal battle to take back the Sugababe’s name.

Earlier this year, Mutya, who left the three-piece girl group back in 2005, announced plans to try win back the title, after the band was left without a single original member.
The group, which was originally made up of Keisha Buchanan, Siobhán Donaghy and Mutya is now Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen.
After winning legal success yesterday, Mutya Tweeted to fans: ‘I won the official name of the Sugababes now!!! I deserve this! I’m over the moon! :D xxx’
But we don’t think the group will have to go changing their name just yet.
According to reports, yesterday’s ruling only gave Mutya the rights to paper, cardboard and goods - stationery, paper gift wrap and paper gift wrapping ribbons – not their musical activity, which the Sugababes themselves trademarked back in April.
Despite this, it’s thought Mutya could continue proceedings, and battle for the originl group to be reformed, under the original name.
