‘Only I can tell my story’
It was recently announced that Universal were making a biopic about Madonna. The film script has been written by Elyse Hollander, with producers Brett Ratner and Michael De Luca already onboard.
Entitled Blond Ambition, the film will follow Madonna’s legendary story as a young female singer struggling to find her place in the male-dominated music industry in 1980s New York.
While the news of the imminent film was met by excitement from fans across the globe, there was one person who wasn’t so happy about it: Madonna, herself.
Taking to her Instagram account, Madonna shared an old school photo of herself with her 9.2 million followers, captioned with a very telling message.
‘Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.’
While Madonna hasn’t out rightly referenced the film title ‘Blond Ambition’, it is pretty clear that it was the subject of her post.
