She knows how to get into the festive spirit

Instead of spending Valentine’s morning having a romantic breakfast in bed with Prince William, Kate Middleton had royal duties to attend to.

The Duchess of Cambridge spent the day at an RAF base in Cambridgeshire – her third visit to the organisation since she became Royal Patron and Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadet Organisation in December 2015, after Prince Philip stepped down from the role.

The activity-filled day didn’t stop Kate from dressing up for Valentine’s Day, however, with the Duchess donning a bright red double breasted blazer to mark the occasion, teaming it with a black polo neck, skinny jeans, gloves and knee high boots.

It was her choice of jewelry though that got everyone talking, with the Duchess opting to finish off her Valentine’s look with a pair of heart-shaped earrings by British designer, Kiki McDonough.

The yellow gold pave diamond leaf earrings are from Kiki McDonough’s new Lauren collection, inspired by the British ballerina, Lauren Cuthbertson, and they can totally be yours too – if you have £2,200 gong spare.

During her visit, Kate was introduced to the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Air Training Corps cadets, joining them for a personal development training session and even taking part in a flight simulation.

We don’t know how Kate Middleton celebrated Valentine's Day after performing her royal duties at the Air Cadet Organisation, but we hope that it involved Prince William whisking her off for a romantic candlelit meal.
