Sure, being a royal has its advantages – the fashion, the princes, the tiaras, the castles – but it definitely also has its drawbacks, from the end of privacy to the dreaded rumour mill.
No one knows this more than Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
The two Duchesses have endured an endless stream of online bullying since becoming royals, from mum shaming to having their image dissected.
And despite remaining tight-lipped in the face of rumours, the palace has on occasion waded into the public discussion to clear up speculation.
This was proven this week as the palace addressed speculation that Kate Middleton had got plastic surgery.
The speculation began when British plastic surgeon Dr. Munir Somji shared a side by side photo of Kate to his Dr. Medi Spa Clinic Instagram, posting: ‘Our Kate loves a big of baby botox’.
When asked to confirm whether or not she was a client however, the Dr. Medi Spa Clinic stated: ‘We have non-disclosure agreements where we can’t disclose our high-end clients. We absolutely can’t comment at all that she has come to us.’
Kensington Palace was having none of it, making a rare statement to shut down the claim, telling the New York Post that the allegation was ‘categorically not true’.
The statement continued: ‘In addition, The Royal Family never endorse commercial activity.’
