Here’s why Kate Middleton wasn't allowed to run a marathon
And we kind of get it...

And we kind of get it...
The Duchess of Cambridge is known to be athletic - not letting her Princess title stop her from being active.
From running and tennis to swimming and hockey, Kate never misses an opportunity to show off her sporty side, often taking on her husband, Prince William, in light-hearted competitions at public events.
She would therefore be an obvious choice for the London Marathon, attending the event just last year alongside princes William and Harry to cheer on runners as part of their mental health charity, Heads Together, a partner of that year’s marathon.
During a recent appearance on Loose Women however, Kate’s friend Bryony Gordon cleared up the rumours, informing us all that we would never see the Duchess of Cambridge take part in the marathon.
But it’s not to do with fitness - it’s actually all down to her title, with the 36-year-old not allowed to run in the public event.
Why? It’s all down to security.

Bryony recalled asking the Duchess if she would be running a marathon when the two met to discuss Heads Together, to which Kate replied, ‘Oh no, security and all that.’
While it's a shame for Kate, it does make sense - plus a Duchess sprinting past would be enough to distract anyone from their race.
What did the author of Eat, Drink, Run have to say about it? ‘If I can do the marathon, you can.’
