Three years after filing...
The past year has seen more celebrity divorce announcements than we can count – Chris Pratt and Anna Faris, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan and Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, to name just a few.
And don’t even get us started about the ones that are still ongoing.
One divorce that has been getting finalised for as long as we can remember is that of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who separated three years ago and filed for divorce last year after 10 years of marriage.
The couple have remained friends since their amicable split, co-parenting their three children and even going on holiday together to keep things normal for their family. In fact, Jennifer Garner made news earlier this year as she staged an ‘intervention’ for her estranged husband and checked him into rehab, driving him to the treatment centre herself.
This close friendship however is one of the reasons why their divorce has taken so long to be processed, with it reported just months ago that their case was under threat of being dismissed because of the lack of paperwork, with the couple taking their time to ensure it was done right and fairly.
Garner (the petitioner of the divorce) is said to have received a third notice of a case review, warning her that until the judgment is filed and entered, a divorce cannot be finalised.

Well, it seems that the former couple has finally responded, with TMZ reporting that a property settlement had been reached, with the couple agreeing to joint custody of their three children and a fair divide of their earnings.
Now that Ben Affleck has left rehab, People has reported that the divorce has officially been finalised.
'The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say. It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others,' Ben Affleck wrote in a statement. 'Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.'
Our thoughts are with Ben and Jen.
