Since becoming President of the United States in January, undoubtedly the most controversial election in US history, Donald Trump has been fighting to keep his control over the White House.
Two months ago, Trump went against tradition and appointed his daughter’s husband, 36-year-old real estate investor Jared Kushner, as his Senior Advisor, one of the top positions in his administration, and something that prompted the public to call out as nepotism.
This week Donald Trump has gone one step further, giving his daughter Ivanka, former reality TV personality and socialite, a West Wing office. Not only this but apparently Ivanka also has classified information clearance and a government-issued phone. Yes, really.
Although this is a questionable move, it certainly isn’t an unexpected one, with Ivanka appearing at her father’s side at public events and meetings since his inauguration. She even played an active part in the President’s meetings with visiting world leaders, everyone from Justin Trudeau and Shinzo Abe to more recently, Angela Merkel.
We don’t know how we feel about Ivanka Trump having access to the state secrets, but to be honest it can’t be worse than what Donald Trump can do with them.
