‘I can’t do what most 18-year-olds can do’
The Beckham children are the subject of most of our Instagram envy, and we can’t help wanting to be at least one of them most days. Whether it’s six-year-old Harper Beckham sitting next to Anna Wintour at Victoria Beckham's show or 12-year-old Cruz releasing his Christmas single, If Every Day Was Christmas, the Beckham children have already accomplished more than most of us can dream of.
No one knows this better than 18-year-old Brooklyn who has used his profile to pursue photography, releasing a book of his own shots, What I See, earlier this year.
Talking about fame Brooklyn has explained, ‘I feel like it has its ups and downs. I feel like I get opportunities that most people my age don’t get.’
He continued: ‘But I can’t do what most 18-year-olds do. Like, I can’t go out partying all the time, I have to work and get up early. So it kind of has its ups and downs.’
‘A lot of young influencers feel pressure being in the public eye but it is something I have grown up with,’ he explained in a previous interview. ‘I don’t think being in the public eye has affected me too much. I’m just used to it. Obviously I have to be more aware as a teenager that someone may be capturing shots of me unaware.’
The oldest of the Beckham brood will be moving to New York this month to study photography and hopefully get a chance to live as a normal 18-year-old student.
